Battle of Monmouth, Morristown and Lafayette
Lafayette, Hamilton and Washington (Morristown, NJ)
I'm sorry we had to cancel class yesterday, but no electricity and no internet would have made for a very unproductive meeting! (How did people learn anything before electricity, anyway?) Jk...but really, in order to be prepared for class next week, you'll need to do some research on your own. Please use the link below to watch videos about the Battle of Monmouth Courthouse, winter camp at Morristown and the Marquis de Lafayette, and take notes as you watch. There will be an in-class quiz about them next week!
*Don't be afraid to stop there! If you want more information about the Battle of Monmouth, please check out this great article at In the Heat of the Moment at Monmouth | American Battlefield Trust (battlefields.org)
REMINDERS:
- Please come prepared with WRITTEN questions, comments, favorite quotations, etc. from Being George Washington (make sure you have read the ENTIRE book). We will be discussing it on Wednesday! Candy for those who come prepared with something WRITTEN!
- We have 3 presentations this week:
- Shayla - The Roles of Tories, Loyalists, Hessians and Red Coats
- Noah - Minutemen and the Militia
- Skyler - Benjamin Franklin in France and the Treaty with France
I'm extending the last day to pass off award requirements until
January 27th,
so keep working on those award requirements! I really want to see those keys FULL of ribbons!
