Week 6: Stubborn Determination
ASSIGNMENTS:
Writing: What does it mean to be determined? Is determination different than stubbornness? Give examples.
Remember to begin the writing
process by building a good thesis statement, then outlining your supporting
points. AND...Have your parent/mentor proofread and initial your paper or you will lose points!
Reading:
Finish John Adams, if you haven’t
already, and prepare some written questions and comments to bring to our book
discussion next week.
Presentations*: This week we’ll hear from Lacey on Hospitals and Doctors, and from Savanna on
Life as a Soldier.
*Second presentation requirements: no notes bigger than a
3x5 index card, the presentation must be in your own words (use of quotations
are the exception), and you must have some sort of visual aid—poster, costume,
artifact, video, etc.

- Work on that Declaration of Independence journal! If you complete 4-5 sections per week, you’ll have the whole thing done before January 20th!·
